As of May 23, 2018, PridePlanners has officially dissolved.

Even though we will no longer be a formal organization, the PridePlanners brand and opportunities for this community continue to live on. We are pleased to announce that there is still a home for our community with the Financial Planning Association™ (FPA®). As many of you know, we have shared a strong relationship with FPA for many years, including recently hosting several of our national conferences in coordination with their annual conference.

Please see the FPA tab to understand you can become involved

Thank you for joining us on this important journey. Through an all-volunteer board, PridePlanners accomplished much during its nineteen years of existence, stemming from its early recognition that the LBGTQ community had a unique set of issues that was not wholly being addressed by the financial planning community.  PridePlanners' founders and members were some of the first financial professionals to start the dialogue and raise the awareness around LGBTQ issues. In bringing LGBTQ issues to the forefront of the financial planning discussion, PridePlanners:

  • ran six national conferences, starting in 2001, and taking place on both US coasts, both independently and in conjunction with the FPA;
  • offered a website connecting members with potential clients and the public with resources about financial planning for the LGBTQ community;
  • provided networking with other financial professionals via regional meetings, meet-ups at NAPFA and FPA National conferences, and through a Linked-In Discussion Group; and
  • served as a source of speakers to other conferences and as a media resource focusing on the needs of LGBTQ people.
